Writer Sujatha is no more! Like a glittering star that has vanished suddenly from the galaxy, his demise is sudden and affecting! I am sure the whole of the movie world as well as the world of literature will be shaken by this sad news!
His true name was Rangarajan, Sujatha being a pseudonym. An engineer by qualification, he has written over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. His very first story featured in a magazine called Sivaji in 1953. His short story, Idadhu Orathil, was published in a Tamil magazine in 1962 and he soon became a regular contributor. As a much-read author, he has carved out a niche for himself. He has even worked on divine scriptures and have presented understandable versions of them. With a lucid flow and a very colloquial style of language, his works were read and liked by everyone.
Flims like Priya, Vikram, Anniyan, Sivaji and Anandha Thandavam which is in the making are some of his works for the silver screen. He is also working for Shankar's Robot.
It is of course tough to believe that he is not amongst us. The loss is terrible! |
