A galaxy of Kollywood stars today gathered at the Chepauk grounds and observed a hunger strike to demonstrate their protest against the attack on theatres in Karnataka that screen tamil movies. The strike also was to condemn the treatment of Tamilians in Karnataka following the Hogenakkal issue. the strike commenced in the morning and ended by 4.30 in the evening.

Vasu and son Shakthi, Prasanna, Narain, Riteish, director Hari, Delhi Ganesh, Bharath, Raju Sundaram, Chandrashekar, Arjun, Priyamani, Murali, S.J. Suryah, M.S. Bhaskar, Ramrajan, Anandraj, Karthi, Kalaipuli G. Shekar, Vindhya and every member of the film fraternity was present.
