So, the flag is ready; the batallion too is ready. With all these launched, the hottest rumour that is recently doing rounds in Kollywood is whether Ilayathapathy Vijay is all set to strengthen his position to step nto politics. Well, there are so many on screen proofs to support this assumption. Vijay's dialogues and his manner of approach towards his fans and fan clubs, his well-structured image, his popularity and above all, his style are what hint the public about the hero's move.
But his father director S.A.Chandrasekar's reply hints a positive beginning. The proud father is indeed happy with his son's rise in the idustry. The release date of a film is crucial in deciding its success or failure. In 2007 alone, 107 films were released and 2008 is also filled with exciting launches. Each and every banner, as well as director, chooses to release their films on a suitable date to attract maximum audiences.
Though pre-planned, nowadays, films’ release dates get altered due to so many practical reasons. What is the most ideal time for a film’s release? National holidays such as Pongal, Tamil New Year, Deepavali and Independence Day are some of the conventional dates fixed for new releases in South India. Even holidays and long weekends draw substantial crowds to theatres. However, big, busy stars usually plan so as to have a gap of at least 100 days between their consecutive releases. This is because theatres have to run at not less than 20-50% capacity and if the same star releases more than one film at a time, obviously, the audiences’ footfalls will be split.
